Account and access

Motif uses one Google account to identify the named user who has access to the desktop app. Purchase happens on the Motif website; the app does not contain a checkout.

Sign in with the correct account

Select Continue with Google and use the Google account associated with your Motif purchase or access. Signing in does not automatically connect Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive, or another service. Those are separate permissions under Settings → Connections.

Authorized computers

A Motif licence belongs to one named user and can authorize up to three of that user’s computers. It cannot be shared with another person. If all three slots are already in use, Motif shows Three computers are already authorized before opening the workspace. From that screen you can:
  1. review the authorized computer names;
  2. remove a computer you no longer use;
  3. choose Check access again on the current computer;
  4. sign in with another account if the wrong Google account was selected.
Removing a computer frees one authorization slot. It does not remotely delete that computer’s local music folders.

Internet and offline use

Motif needs an internet connection for the first sign-in and periodic access verification. When the app has recently verified valid access, local Library and listening work can continue during a temporary connection loss. If Motif has been offline too long, it asks you to reconnect before continuing. Reconnect to the internet and choose the available access check. Connected-service features naturally require their corresponding service to be reachable even when the local Library remains available.

Billing needs attention

When access is blocked by a subscription payment problem, Motif shows Billing needs attention.
  1. Choose Manage subscription.
  2. Complete the required change in the Stripe billing page opened by Motif.
  3. Return to the desktop app.
  4. Choose Check access again.
Manage the existing subscription from that recovery path. New purchase happens on the Motif website, not inside the app.

Account details in Settings

Under Settings → Account you can review:
  • current plan or access state;
  • paid-through information when applicable;
  • the signed-in Google address, masked by default;
  • Manage subscription when available;
  • Sign out.
Use the reveal control only when you need to verify the complete Email address, especially before screen sharing.

Sign out

Select Sign out to end the current Motif account session and return to the Google sign-in screen. Signing out does not delete source audio or Library folders from Windows. The next account still has its own access check and creative-role setup.
For legal terms governing subscriptions, licences, cancellation, and consumer rights, use Motif’s official Terms and Consumer Information on the website or in the app’s Legal Center.
