# Content

> Publish beat videos to YouTube, optionally create a connected BeatStars listing, and prepare supported short-form video.

# Content

Content is the public publishing side of Studio. It is separate from Opportunities and Send Outs because publishing a platform entry is different from privately delivering audio.

## Available modes

Producer roles can switch between:

* **Beat video** — publish an eligible beat to YouTube and optionally create a BeatStars listing;
* **Short-form** — publish a supported vertical video to YouTube Shorts.

Artist-only roles open the Short-form workflow. Loops are not eligible for the Beat video workflow.

## Publish a beat video to YouTube

1. Open **Studio → Content → Beat video**.
2. Choose a beat from the Library.
3. Enter the YouTube title, description, and tags.
4. Select a cover image. Motif places it centered on a black 16:9 canvas without cropping the artwork.
5. Choose **Publish now** or **Schedule**.
6. Review the destination and confirm publishing.

The beat picker shows newer music first, supports search, and marks beats already posted to YouTube. You can select one again when reposting is intentional.

When scheduled through YouTube, the platform keeps the schedule after Motif is closed.

After your first successful YouTube beat publish, eligible beat rows can also show **Post to YouTube** in their right-click menu as a faster entry into the same workflow.

## Add an optional BeatStars listing

When BeatStars is connected, enable it inside the Beat video composer to publish a store listing alongside YouTube.

Review the listing fields carefully:

* listing title and description;
* genre, mood, instruments, and tags;
* visibility and release timing;
* MP3 and available WAV license options and prices;
* free-download and store options;
* collaborators and their roles;
* profit and publishing splits, which must be complete and confirmed;
* third-party sample or loop disclosure;
* available masters, previews, or stems.

WAV licensing requires an appropriate untagged WAV master. BeatStars metadata requirements must be satisfied before the listing can continue.

When both destinations are used, Motif creates the BeatStars listing first. Its purchase or license URL is then added to the YouTube description. If BeatStars requires an additional security step or cannot confirm the selected schedule, Motif pauses rather than publishing a YouTube entry with an unconfirmed store link.

## Publish short-form video

1. Open **Short-form**.
2. Select an MP4, MOV, or WebM video.
3. Give the Short a name.
4. Enter the required caption.
5. Choose publish now or a future time.
6. Confirm the YouTube Shorts destination.

The supported short-form destination documented here is YouTube Shorts.

## Publishing progress and history

Only one publishing job runs at a time. A progress dock remains visible while Motif prepares and uploads media.

Use **Posted & scheduled** or **Shorts history** to review:

* platform destination;
* published or scheduled state;
* selected time;
* links returned by the platform;
* combined YouTube and BeatStars result;
* an action-required, partial, or failed state that needs attention.

Open the provider link to manage the live platform entry after publishing.
